Research & Reconstitution Literature Summary

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide sequence derived from a protein found in human gastric juice. In laboratory settings the lyophilised powder is reconstituted with sterile bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol), which is added slowly down the vial wall rather than injected directly onto the powder. Published handling guidance for lyophilised peptides describes storage of the dry powder at -20 °C and refrigeration of the reconstituted solution at 2–8 °C, protected from light and repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Reconstitution volume does not change the total mass in the vial — it only changes concentration, and therefore the number of syringe units required per dose.
